Note: If you see ! (exclamation mark), please seek the help of a responsible adult.
What You Need:
- Salt
- Boiled Water (85 degrees or above)
- String (Woolen String is recommended)
- Glass
- Stirrer (Spoon ect)
- Button
- Pencil
STEPS:
!1. Pour the boiled water into the glass
2. Add 5 table spoons of salt and dissolve it with your stirer. Make sure that you stir thoroughly so that no salt remains at the bottom of the glass.
3. Cut the string so that it is the same length/height as the glass you are using.
4. Tie one end of the string to your button and the other end to your pencil.
5. Put the whole component consisting of the button, string and pencil into the glass. (First button, followed by the string then the end will be your pencil, which acts as a support.)
6. Leave it there for 2-3 weeks. Then, take the whole component out. You have just made a crystal!
NOTE: DO NOT CONTACT THE CRYSTAL WITH WATER! YOUR CRYSTAL WILL MELT!
WHY?
As the water containing salt evapourates, the salt remaining will stick to the string. As more salt are being accumulated. the salt generally become larger and larger, causing a crystal to form! Isn't that WONDERFUL?
